2015 Thanksgiving Food Drive

MECHANICVILLE NOVEMBER 20- There were no cars in the showroom at Toyota of Clifton Park . It was filled with boxes and cans of for, and turkeys. Enough food and turkeys to feed 825 families. Michael Raucci, the General Manager of Toyota of Clifton Park and the man behind the Thanksgiving Food Drive, pointed out that families in Mechanicville, Stillwater, Halfmoon, Clifton Park, and Waterford will have turkey dinners thanks to the generosity of the community.

Stillwater Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees – by Ian Lewis

Induction will happen on Wednesday, December 30. Boys basketball will be hosting the second night of their tournament that night. Inductees will be honored at half time of the Stillwater game, which starts at 7 against Schuylerville. Immediately following the the game, the new members will be honored and speak in the new cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend this event.

11/15/15

Stillwater Police have arrested Joseph W. Gethins (age 23) of Stillwater and Heather Schrimsher (age 23) of Stillwater and charged them both with Burglary 3nd degree (Felony) and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (Felony) following an incident in Saratoga Hills Mobile Home Park located in the Town of Stillwater. It was determined during an investigation that the two defendants unlawfully entered an unoccupied dwelling and proceeded to vandalize the interior of the property before fleeing. The property sustained over $15,000.00 in damages. Gethins was also charged with Petit Larceny (misdemeanor) for an unrelated incident in which he shoplifted beer, food and paper towels from Price Chopper in Stillwater. The defendants surrendered to police and were arraigned in Stillwater Town Court. Bail was set at $20,000.00 bond for Gethins and $15,000.00 bond for Schrimsher. Both were transported to Saratoga County Jail. The investigation was handled by 1st Sgt. Ray Cordani and Ptl. Paul Pecor

Stillwater Gears Up for Bicentennial

STILLWATER - On April 16, 2016, Stillwater residents will be celebrating the village's 200th birthday. While that\'92s still months away, there are several events in the works now leading up to this bicentennial celebration. A dinner dance has been organized at the Stillwater Community Center, and in February the village will be hosting their annual Winter Fest. Festivities traditionally include ice skating and ice hockey games at the village ice rink, downhill sledding, cross country skiing, music, food and more.

Stillwater Police arrested Anthony E. Deschaine (age 22) of Mechanicville and charged him with Petit Larceny (misdemeanor) following a shoplifting complaint at Price Chopper. The subject stole beer and snacks from the store. He was issued an appearance ticket for Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

Stillwater Police arrested Laurie L. Thrane (age 46) of Johnsonville and charged her with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration (misdemeanor) following a vehicle stop on County Route 76. She was processed and released to appear in Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

Bink (age 46) of Stillwater and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended registration (misdemeanor) following a vehicle stop on Hudson Ave. He was processed and released to appear in Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Wade Schoenborn.

Crandall (age 64) of Mechanicville and charged her with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration (misdemeanor) following a vehicle stop on Hudson Ave. She was processed and released to appear in Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

Stillwater Police arrested Grace E. Hale (age 17) of Glenville and charged her with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration (misdemeanor) and Operating without Insurance (infraction) following a vehicle stop on Hudson Ave. She was processed and released to appear in Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

11/05/15

Stillwater Police have referred a 15 year old to Saratoga County Probation for what would have been the misdemeanor charge of Aggravated Harassment if the individual was an adult. The referral followed an incident at Stillwater Central School in which a student was harassed. The investigation was handled by Ptl. Tom Sawyer.

McKinley David Dsenoyers – 20

STILLWATER – McKinley David Desnoyers, 20, died Tuesday, Nov. 10th at EllisHospital, after being stricken.

Funeral Service 7 PM Friday at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.  Calling hours Friday from 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be directed to the family of McKinley “Yoshi” Desnoyers in care of the Funeral Home.
