Rock N’Derby – by C. Barton

Schaghticoke- The inaugural Rock’n Derby festival made its way to the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds from May 20th through May 22nd for this first, ever of its kind event in Schaghticoke.  The festival sponsored by SLP Concerts and GameLoud was three days of a unique concert, camping and entertainment experience, suitable for the entire family. There is so much more to this event than just the music, says Carly Reyna, Manager of the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds.

2015 Thanksgiving Food Drive

MECHANICVILLE NOVEMBER 20- There were no cars in the showroom at Toyota of Clifton Park . It was filled with boxes and cans of for, and turkeys. Enough food and turkeys to feed 825 families. Michael Raucci, the General Manager of Toyota of Clifton Park and the man behind the Thanksgiving Food Drive, pointed out that families in Mechanicville, Stillwater, Halfmoon, Clifton Park, and Waterford will have turkey dinners thanks to the generosity of the community.

The Cub Scouts Pack # 34 and Boy Scouts Troop Mechanicville will be at the following location on November 14 from 10-12.

Stillwater United Breakfast – by V. Albert

STILLWATER JANUARY 3- The smell of freshly-brewed coffee, bacon eggs, pancakes and sausage filled the air at the Stillwater United Church on Saturday.  The members of the church, under the coordination of Chris and Rick Nelson, hosted their first community breakfast of the new year with high hopes and great food.

Santa Joins the 3rd Annual Halfmoon Celebration – by M. LeMay

HALFMOON DECEMBER 6 -On a rainy evening the Halfmoon Celebrations Committee held its 3rd Annual Holiday Celebration event at the Halfmoon Town Hall. This was a free event open to the public and put on by the volunteers of the Halfmoon Celebrations Association and their supportive sponsors. Hundreds of people filled the town hall to capacity over a couple of hours.

Jobs, Salaries to Change at Maplewood – by H. Wessell

STILLWATER AND BALLSTON SPA -- According to a document provided to Maplewood Manor employees,  presumptive purchaser of the facility Zenith Healthcare proposes to cut 27 full- and part-time nurse and sixty full- and part-time nursing aide positions  — along with about nine food service related workers; and thereby to save more than $1.8 million – this, as well as proposed pay cuts, many reaching well over forty percent for various positions.
