In accordance with New York State Department of Education section 57.17 of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Law:

Camelot Project Changes – by V. Albert

STILLWATER MAY 19- The Stillwater Village Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, May 19, for its regularly scheduled meeting with Mayor Rick Nelson, presiding.

At this meeting, Camelot Associates, along with its architect, presented a rendering of its proposed development adjacent to Hudson Avenue.

Nelson defeats Martin in Stillwater mayor’s race, three Trustees elected to new terms

Village residents elected a new mayor Wednesday, turning out incumbent Ernest Martin, who has led the community for 23 years. Rick Nelson, who will take the office on April 6, defeated Martin 194-132. Martin was village trustee in 1983, becoming mayor in March 1992 and is the longest serving mayor in Stillwater history. Also elected to new terms were incumbent Trustees Judith Wood-Shaw (4 years), Timothy Campbell (2 years) and newcomer Frank Tatum (4 years).

VILLAGE OF STILLWATER FEBRUARY 17- At the Village Board meeting Mayor Ernie Martin read a letter for the community from the office of the New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli with regards to a state Annual Update Document (AUD) on the scores of a fiscal audit done on the village

Basile Not Running for Village of Stillwater Reelection – by V. Albert

STILLWATER DECEMBER 16- In other Village news, Trustee John Basile announced he will not be standing for re-election to the Village Board. Mayor Martin hailed Basile as 'a great asset to the Village of Stillwater and the Village Board' during his terms of service on the Board and as Deputy Mayor.

The Village of Stillwater is arguably one of the most historic towns in the nation, given its vital location along routes of travel, trade, settlement and defense as the United States was born and grew.  A whole lot of historic happenings took place here as both nation and village have grown and evolved from Colonial Days into today’s electronic age.

   As with growth and change everywhere, too often we lose the links to the past, the connection to the people and events that have made us who and what we are.  How many times have we seen the destruction and replacement of those sites and buildings that tie us to those who’ve gone before, losing that vital connection to our past?
