Why is grocery shopping such a chore?  Well let’s start with this; people must not know about shopping etiquette.    Of course we are all cranky because grocery shopping is a thankless job.  Your children don’t say “Hey Mom thanks for buying this from the grocery store for me.  Instead they say, “There is nothing to eat in this house.”

Juan Guzman Opens Stillwater’s Newest Business – by V. Gallagher

STILLWATER  FEBRUARY 27– Mayor Rick Nelson, members of the village and town board, and local officials gathered together on February 28 for a ceremonial ribbon cutting to welcome Elite Training to the community. Located at 751 Hudson Avenue, Elite Training is a new fitness center focusing on overall strength and conditioning.  However, as owner Juan Garzon explained, his goal is to make it more than just a place to lift weights.

New Stillwater Superintendent Reflects on New Role – by V. Gallagher

STILLWATER - Patricia Morris, who was recently appointed the new superintendent of Stillwater Central Schools, reflected on this moment in her educational career and also offered some thoughts for the future.

“It is an honor to be in this position and to be able to serve the district in this capacity,” said Morris. “I’ve had the privilege of serving the district over the past 19 years in various roles. This was an opportunity to lead by example and lead the entire district into the future.”

SUC Elects New Pastor – by Vince Gallagher

STILLWATER – The Stillwater United Church held a special congregational meeting on January 31 for the purpose of hearing and acting upon the final report of the Pastor Nominating Committee. The result was unanimous…Rachel Paige Mastin will now serve as the church’s official pastor.

New supervisor in Pittstown – by Christine Barton

Town of Pittstown-Newly elected Town of Pittstown Supervisor Verna Hansen was sworn in on January 3rd at 1pm along with several other newly elected town government officials that will begin their terms on January 1st 2016. Ed King held the position of town supervisor for the last four years.  King was 75th supervisor of the Town of Pittstown, and according to Hansen, “he put his heart and soul into this town.”
