Breakfast at the Clifton Park FD – Sunday, Jan.

Come and kick off the new year and have breakfast at our all-you-can-eat breakfast CLIFTON PARK The Clifton Park Fire Department will hold its monthly All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast on Sunday January 4th, 2015… start your New Year’s Resolution right by joining us.  The event will run from 8am to 11:30am at the firehouse on Old Route 146, between Route 9 and 146 in Clifton Park. The menu will include Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Toast, Coffee, Juice and Milk.  The costs for the all you can eat breakfast is $5.00 for Adults, $3.00 for Children 6 to 12 and FREE for kids under 6. Tours of the fire trucks and equipment will also be given to all who attend.  Come and start off the New Year with us and have breakfast!

Mechanicville City Hall News – By Gerstenberger, Gowett & Coreno

At the City Council meeting three recommendations by The Mechanicville City Fire Department are being brought to attention after an audit by the NYS Comptroller\'92s Office. Section 6 of the point system is being amended from the service award program. This clarifies exactly how many points are earned for responding to a minimum of 10% Fire Department calls in the year. Resolution 93-14 clarified \'93Chief\'92s Call\'94 as any detail intended to assist an emergency/rescue squad. Said points are the result of a retirement program, LOSAP, for local volunteer firefighters. Stephen Higgins was inadvertently not given the correct number of points for service in 2012. He was awarded his service credit was included in the Volunteer Service award Program for the year 2012

Mechanicville FD Fire Prevention Training

MECHANICVILLE - The Mechanicville Volunteer Fire Department has just completed its annual Fire Prevention Training Program for elementary school students, Grades K-5, at the Mechanicville Elementary School.  Over 700 students attended demonstration of fire safety practices for themselves and their homes and families.  The also got the opportunity to see and us a fire extinguisher simulator.  Several brave teacher volunteers also got the “thrill” of riding in tower truck’s 10 foot aerial bucket to the delight of their students.  At the conclusion of the training session, each student was given a Mechanicville Fire Prevention tee shirt and a personal calculator.  Member of the Hillcrest Fire Department assisted.

Halfmoon-Waterford FD Open House – by M. LeMay

HALFMOON- Sunday October 5th The Halfmoon-Waterford Fire District No.1 held their annual fire prevention open house. October is fire prevention month so this was a great event to show families and kids what their volunteer fire department does on a daily basis to protect them and our community. This year’s theme is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives, Test Yours Every Month”.

Celebrations Committee Annual Fall Festival:
HALFMOON - It was a beautiful, but breezy fall afternoon at the Halfmoon Town Park on Saturday, were the Halfmoon Celebrations Committee held its 6th Annual Fall Festival. More than 30 organizations, town councilmen, businesses and fire departments kicked of the celebrations with a parade down RT. 236 starting at Knox Woods and ending in the Town Park. The Halfmoon Celebrations committee this year went with the Wizard of Oz theme; it was a big hit with the kids and helping doing a little sing along to get the crowd into was done by The Clifton Park Halfmoon Fire Department’s Chief Arthur Hunsinger. Grand Marshal this year was Norma Morris life-long resident and supporter of the Town of Halfmoon.
