STILLWATER OCTOBER 28- Since 2003 the Stillwater Police Department has taken in 4,000 used cell phones. These phones are restored and given to victims of domestic violence in the area. The facts about domestic violence and its damage were the subject of the Stillwater Police Dept.'s annual news conference.

Joseph J. Kardas 98

VALLEY FALLS - Joseph J. Kardas of Kardas Road passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care Center. He was 98.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Luke Nightengale, caregivers Pat Hebert, Mel and Maggie, the staff at Samaritan Hospital, Albany Medical Center and Schuyler Ridge and all the family and friends that have supported them in these hard times.

Dorothy Berlingieri Reitano – 88

MECHANICVILLE – Dorothy Berlingieri Reitano, 88, of Saratoga Ave., died peacefully at her home, Friday, Oct. 30th after battling heart and lung disease for some time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main ST., Mechanicville.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

Rev. Henry Palmieri – 88

MECHANICVILLE– Rev. Henry Palmieri, 88, of South St., entered eternal rest Friday, Oct. 30th at Saratoga Center, Ballston Spa. Born in Kingston, March 13, 1927, eldest son of the late Madeline Nusco Capuano and step-father Serafino Capuano, (only father he ever knew), Henry lived in Mechanicville practically all of his life.

Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville will be Monday, Nov. 2nd from 4-7 PM. A Memorial Service will follow after 7 PM.
Burial with military honors will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd at Noon at the SaratogaNational Cemetery.
