Brown’s Beach Lease Signing – by Harold Wessell

TOWN OF STILLWATER, April 17th Town Board granted Supervisor Edward Kinowski to sign up the future operators of Brown's Beach when details of their joint lease are completed, which is expected shortly.

Also this week, see below, the Town Board will hold a special meeting Thursday night on several Capital Projects

The Board at its regular meeting of April 17 adopted a resolution authorizing the Supervisor to sign the pending license, lease and management agreement with Panza's Restaurant and Menneto Powersports regarding Brown's Beach, who have proposals   to operate the restaurant and hospitality facilities and the marina, respectively.

MECHANICVILLE, April 16 ñ "We've been doing a little bit of brainstorming,"
City Public Works Commissioner David Higgins and Mayor Dennis Baker told a City Council meeting "We have people putting a lot of junk out on curbs." But the City wants to work with people, the Mayor emphasized several times.

City Enacts Controls Over Coin Drops – by H. Wessell

MECHANICVILLE, April 2: "They call  us “Tag Day America,'" Mayor Dennis Baker began as he introduced a local ordinance passed at the April City Council Business session.  "We have people in the streets all the time."

However also, the career police officer added, "We're in violation every time we let them on the road. We're not supposed to tie up a state highway like that," he explained to one questioner. "So we're already in violation. We're trying to work with them, and we just can't do it ... I also know I hear a lot of complaints about people being held up [in traffic]."

TOWN OF MALTA, March 31 The Town Board is expected to vote adoptioni of the Stewart's Shop  #315 Planned Development District, to be located near the access road to Luther Forest Technology Campus in Maltaville,

The Town may soon be home to an aquatic center, as Board members on Monday offered their encouragement to partners Laura Davis, Tara Sullivan, and Kara Haraden.

Town Supervisor Paul Sausville related that he, Town  Parks  and Recreation Director Audrey Ball and Building and Planning Coordinator Anthony Tozzi recently had the opportunity to sit down with them about their interest in establishing The Adirondack Aquatic Center in the Town.

Saratoga Gets 1st County-Wide Ec. Development Plan – by Harold Wessell

BALLSTON SPA, March 18: The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to adopt its first truly whole-County-embracing Economic Development Strategic Plan.?   The unanimously adopted 127-page proposal prepared by consultant TIP Strategies of Austin, TX, calls for creation of a Local Development Corporation, a quasi-autonomous body with board of directors, an executive committee and three-person staff of executive director, program coordinator and administrative assistant, to carry out the organization's mission to oversee business development across the County.
