No Malta Deputy Clerk for The Rest of The Year – by H. Wessell

MALTA, July 6 – The Town Board has been able to compensate for some of the about $25,000

it has lost in connection with the lawsuit by a now-former Deputy Town Clerk, involving treatment by the Town Clerk during her employment. It voted on this date to transfer from the Town Clerk’s budget to the General Fund $15,393 it would have paid the Deputy for the balance of this year – thus eliminating the position.

   $5,000 of that amount is the direct payment it agreed to make, after insurance, toward the $100,000 settlement with Jennifer Choudy, who left Town employment July 3 as part of the agreement.

Malta to Preserve Historic Iron Fence – by H. Wessell

TOWN OF MALTA, May 27 - The Malta Town Board will look into the possibility of grant funds to assure preservation and restoration of  what the Supervisor and other members last week called  “one of the few historic features that we have left in our Town:" the Dunning Street Cemetery.

Public Pre-Construction Meeting for Round Lake Road Project Malta, NY

 

MALTA - May 25, 2015 Construction work will soon begin on the Round Lake Road Traffic and Mobility Improvements Project. On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, there will be a public pre-construction meeting to present the proposed construction schedule, introduce Rifenburg Construction personnel and introduce the Creighton Manning construction inspection team. The meeting will take place at Malta Town Hall from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. There will be a brief project presentation followed by a question and answer session.

The final construction plans identifying existing features, proposed improvements, landscaping, lighting, and work limits will be available.
