Hoosic Valley Baseball Champions Recognized – by C. Barton
On Wednesday July 29th at 6pm the Hoosic Valley Booster Club sponsored a community celebration to honor the Hoosic Valley Boys Varsity Baseball team on winning the title of New York State Class C Champions for the second consecutive year. The community gathered at the Joe Bruno Stadium to celebrate together the victory of this years win. The event was sponsored and organized by the Hoosic Valley Booster Club. Bonnie Speanburg, President of the Booster Club facilitated the recognition program. She thanked the community for supporting the team and the ongoing efforts of the Booster Club. “We did this last year for the championship team and it worked out so well that we wanted to do it again," says Speanburg. On the morning of the event there were 203 guests registered to attend. There were two ticket price options to attend the event, both included admission to the Valley Cats game.

Schaghticoke Welcomes Small “Big Top” by Christine Barton
Schaghticoke- On July 23rd at 6pm the Zerbini family circus made their way to Schaghticoke. The crowd to enjoyed an evening under the “small” big top at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds. According to their history, the Zerbini Family Circus started entertaining crowds in the United States in the early 1990’s.

Schaghticoke to Host Countryfest – by C. Barton
Schaghticoke-The Schaghticoke Fairgrounds once again will be home to this years annual WGNA Countryfest on July 11th 2015. The first year that the event was held in Schaghticoke, 107.7 WGNA also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Countryfest. The momentum for the festival, now in its 22nd year, is still going strong as the community prepares for the annual event in the Town of Schaghticoke for the third year running.

Schaghticoke Strawberry Festival – by C. Barton
Schaghticoke- on Saturday June 20th the Schaghticoke Community Builders hosted a Strawberry Festival and block party on lower School Street in the town of Schaghticoke. The event was free and ran from 12-5pm and offered a variety of family friendly activities for all ages. Music, local vendors, line dancing performances, face and nail painting, food, crafts and games were just a few of the activities happening in Schaghticoke during the festival.
