BALLSTON SPA, May 11 – Following an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing litigation, the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Law and Finance committee recommended authorizing a settlement in 2011 litigation, just reached, against the General Electric Company for damages associated with the dredging of PCBs from the Hudson River.

TOWN OF WATERFORD, April 26 – At the Town Board agenda meeting this day, Town Engineer Dominick Gabriel reported that Waterford at some point will be entering into a water contract with the City of Cohoes, and will have one with the City of Troy.

The Annual White Water Derby will be held in Mechanicville this Sunday, April 3. Registration will take place at Spacial Dynamics from 9-11 AM on Sunday. The race will start at Coons Crossing at noon
RENSSELAER COUNTY - As of March 7, 2016 the Rensselaer County Department of Health has collected water samples from 60 samples including 44 private wells in the Town of Petersburgh. Results are expected in the next week or so and will be passed on directly to the individual home owners. Further testing is currently taking place. The geographic range of the testing will continue to expand until PFOA readings fall to an acceptable level.

Members of the Tenandeho Canoe Association staged their first creek cleanup last Saturday in preparation for the April 3 whitewater derby. Committee members were able to remove debris for the first half of the course. They were aided by low water conditions that exposed obstacles from previous races. Plans are now underway to complete the cleanup next Saturday. Anyone wishing to help with the cleanup can meet with the race committee at the McDonald's parking lot in Mechanicville at 9:00am, this Saturday, March 19.
