Members of St. Luke’s on the Hill gathered Saturday evening and again on Sunday morning, February 28 and 29, following the regular mass to celebrate the ground-breaking for the site of the parish’s new rectory and resource center.

MECHANICVILLE - It was standing-room only at St. Luke’s on the Hill on January 6 when family, friends, parishioners and visiting clergy gathered for the Celebration of New Ministry for Reverend David Haig as he was installed as the rector of the church.

Reverend Haig – New Rector at St. Luke’s – By Sandy McBride
On January 6, St. Luke’s on the Hill Episcopal Church will hold a Celebration of New Ministry, with the Institution of Rev. David Haig as rector of the parish. Coinciding with the Epiphany of our Lord, the rite will be conducted by Rt. Rev. William Love, Bishop of the Diocese of Albany, at 7 p.m. at the church at 40 McBride Road west of Mechanicville. A number of area clergy and officials, as well as members of St. Luke’s, will take part in the ceremony.

St. Luke’s Prayer Shawl Ministry – by Sandy McBride
When Deacon Lynne Curtis of St. Luke’s on the Hill Episcopal Church came upon an article describing an interesting ministry several years ago, she thought she’d bring it to the attention of some of her parishioners and see if they agreed. They did. Thus began what continues to grow in the local church today, the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
