MECHANICVILLE – William G. Thomas, 88, died Friday, November 4th at Starr Farm Nursing Center, Burlington, VT after a brief illness.

MECHANICVILLE – Kenneth O. Ambuhl, 68, of Waverly St., died suddenly Tuesday Nov. 1st at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, after being stricken.

STILLWATER – Edward C. Coon, 85, of Lake St., died Tuesday, Nov. 1st at VA Medical Center, Albany, after a lingering diabetes illness.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday evening at 7 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours will precede at the Funeral Home from 4-7 PM. Burial with military honors will be held Friday at 9:30 PM at Saratoga National Cemetery.

MECHANICVILLE – Richard J. Norton, 60, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 25th surrounded by his family and friends.

Tom Salvadore related how he began by working part time in the early 70’s at funeral homes in the area. On October 30, 1976, the day Police Officer Paul Luther was killed,Dwight Dunn asked Tom if he would be interested in going to college. Dunn suggested that Tom pursue the GI Bill. Which he did and earned his Associates Degree in Mortuary Science while working full time as a Police Officer in Mechanicville.
