imageGus is an 8-year old Border Collie mix who is neutered and up to date on his shots. He is a smart, active dog who would love someone to run or hike with. Gus loves to be with his owners the most. He enjoys going for long walks, hiking, and playing fetch with any type of ball. He is a very loyal and protective dog who is under voice command. He loves to herd his family while running off his leash. He enjoys playing fetch and learns very quickly. He understands the words- come, sit, stay, wait, down, bed, and outside.

After a long active day, Gus will curl up next to you at night; he loves taking naps by the fire. He will also put himself to bed if he gets too tired! He sleeps on either a dog bed, human bed, or by the bedroom door and loves to sleep in!

Gus is good with other dogs and would do best in a home without young children.

She loves other dogs and they love her! Holly knows what she wants and will tell you: If she has to go out she looks at you and whines...If she wants to lay down next to you under a blanket, she whines! She has the cutest little face and will steal your heart. She is fragile at 8.5 Lbs. and therefore would not be good with small children. She has been through a lot and has come through with flying colors! In that respect, she has a strong will to live and is a tough little girl.

A Christmas Carol at The Arts Center on the Hudson – by Cindy Mahoney

Mechanicville patrons were entertained on Saturday, December 1st by the master storyteller Ashley Ramsden performing 23 characters from Jacob Marley to Tiny Tim in Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.

To a crowd of around 100 people, Mr. Ramsden delighted his audience as a master storyteller and performer.  Portraying all the characters in a way that you actually felt there were 23 performers upon the stage.

We were all taken back to Victorian England to a tale of a bitter and miserable Ebenezer Scrooge and his ideological, ethical and emotional transformation resulting in visits by Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, and of one Yet to Come.

As Mr. Ramsden ended his performance he was greeted to a standing ovation.

Ashley Ramsden Is the founding director of the School of Storytelling, the longest established centre of its kind in the United Kingdom. He has toured with his remarkable storytelling programs on five continents and has appeared at major storytelling festivals in the UK, South Africa, Scandinavia and America.
