Waterford Police Have Body Cameras – by H. Wessell
TOWN OF WATERFORD, September 1 – Town Supervisor John E. Lawler announced at the monthly Town Board business session that Waterford will have its new Cohoes bridge in pretty prompt order.
The Supervisor reported that the Town has received official notification from the state Department of Transportation that the replacement of the Cohoes-Waterford bridge, much talked about last year and during part of this year including a public meeting he thought “very well conducted” and “extremely well attended, with over 100 people,” is now getting ready to proceed.

Saratoga County’s K9 Team – by H. Wessell
ALLSTON SPA, August 25 – The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office K-9 Division was started in 1979, under Sheriff James Bowen, with two dogs named Marcus and Phoenix. They were purchased from a trainer in Schenectady, and the handlers attended their training at his facility.

Traffic Problems on Stillwater Roads – by H. Wessell
TOWN OF STILLWATER, August 20 – The Town highway department and board members will be looking into traffic difficulties and perceived dangers involving Meehan, George Thompson, McDermott and Robinson Roads.

County Asks for Local Control of NYRA – by H. Wessell
BALLSTON SPA, August 18 – The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors has gone on record as supporting the re-privatization of the New York Racing Association (NYRA), which administers Saratoga Raceway, as a not-for-profit corporation, by the end of 2015.

Committee Recommends Body Cameras – by H. Wessell
BALLSTON SPA, August 11 – The Saratoga County Public Safety Committee has made recommendations on two matters to the full Board of Supervisors for its consideration at the August 18 Board business meeting.
Committee Chairman and Clifton Park Supervisor Philip Barrett noted that the committee meeting had just been preceded by a joint meeting of the Body Camera and Sheriff's Staffing subcommittees.
