VALLEY FALLS - Jessie A. Sheldon of North Street passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy with her loving family at her side. She was 71.

Relatives and friends may call from 10-12 noon on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Hoosic Valley Community Church, 2024 Rt. 40 Schaghticoke. Funeral service will be in the church at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Memory’s Garden Cemetery, Colonie.

Robert Baldwin Campbell – 86

MELROSE - Robert Baldwin Campbell of Route 40 passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Barnwell Nursing Center in Valatie. He was 86.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Melrose United Methodist Church, 20 Church Street, Melrose. Burial with military honors will be on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 9am in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Catherine A. Whitney McBride – 47

MECHANICVILLE – Catherine A. Whitney McBride, 47, of Round Lake Ave. died peacefully, early Wednesday morning, July 29, at Saratoga Hospital in the company of her loving family. Born in Troy, July 3, 1968, she was the daughter of Mary Scott Whitney of Burnt Hills and the late Charles R. Whitney who died in 1993.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 31 at 7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 with calling hours from 4-7PM prior to the service. Interment at the Saratoga National Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

Donna L. Salmon Oberlender – 70

 

MARCELLUS - Donna Lynne Salmon Oberlender, 70, of Marcellus, NY passed away on July 16, 2015, following a lengthy fight against cancer. She maintained a very positive attitude and her sense of humor throughout. Donna has chosen to graciously donate her body to the Anatomical Gift Program for the advancement of medical education and research.

Donna graduated from Mechanicville, NY High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Oneonta and Master’s Degree from SUNY Cortland. She retired from OCM BOCES where she taught computer software to local school administrators and staff as well as developing software tools for schools. Donna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marcellus.

MECHANICVILLE – Retired New York State Police Zone Sgt. James H. French, 76, of Fairway Drive, died Monday morning June 29th at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.

A Memorial Service and entombment with military and police honors is set for Friday, July 3rd, at 9 AM at Saratoga National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to be at the Visitors Center by 8:45 AM.   In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the NYS Troopers Signal 30 Benefit Fund, 120 State St., Albany, 12207, or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, 12866.
