Catherine Golden Chauvin – 65
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Catherine Golden Chauvin, 65, former resident of Mechanicville, died Monday, February 8th at Saratoga Hospital in the loving company of her family. Born in Troy, May 30, 1950, she was the daughter of Lucy Fargnoli Golden of Mechanicville and the late Thomas F. Golden, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13th at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville. In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Cathy in a special way are asked to make donations to the Saratoga Springs Public Library Endowment Fund, CFGCR, 6 Tower Place, Albany, NY 12203 in loving memory of Catherine A. Chauvin.

Joan B. Armer – 80
MECHANICVILLE - Joan B. Armer passed away on Monday, February 08, 2016 at Mary’s Haven in Saratoga Springs. She was 80.
Relatives and friends may call from 10-12 noon on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in the Fairmont Cemetery in Quaker Springs.

Adirondack – Save – A – Stray Pets for Adoption
Caleb- Caleb is a puppy that someone dropped off and our rescue has had him for a few months. He is a really good dog he knows some commands and is house broken. He needs and deserves a good home he is good around other dogs big and small. Looks like a cur. He is up to date an shots wormed and more.
Caylyn - Caylyn is a super sweet little terrier mix. She was in a very bad way when she was brought into rescue. She had an ingrown collar and a bad skin condition. With a lot of tlc she has healed up beaitifully ans is ready for her forever home. She is up to date on shots, wormed and a whole lot more.
Joe Cocozzo & Mechanicville Honored by the NFL
Super Bowl 50 is in the books. It was a milestone victory for the Denver Broncos in a festive setting with the great, the famous and the legendary gathered for the event in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It was a great night for football.

STILLWATER – The Stillwater United Church held a special congregational meeting on January 31 for the purpose of hearing and acting upon the final report of the Pastor Nominating Committee. The result was unanimous…Rachel Paige Mastin will now serve as the church’s official pastor.

Post 91 Remembers Four Chaplains
Mechanicville February 6- On January 23, 1943 the USAT Dorchester left New York Harbor with 902 crew, soldiers, and civilians on board. On February 2 sonar on one of the escort cutters detected a German submarine in the area. the ship was only 150 miles from Greenland .

Hoosic Valley Showcases Musical Talent – by Christine Barton
RENSSELAER COUNTY -On January 29th the All County Winter Festival, hosted by the Rensselaer County School Music Association, was held at Averill Park High School. In addition to other participating schools throughout Rensselaer County, Hoosic Valley had 22 students selected to participate in various musical ensembles throughout the day’s events.
