Peace Trees Will Shine in Schaghticoke – by C. Barton

SCHAGHTICOKE - The 3rd annual Radiant Peace Memorial Tree lighting ceremony will take place again this year on Saturday November 28th at 5pm at the Schaghticoke Town Hall. The Radiant Peace Tree Memorial offers people a unique opportunity to purchase, decorate and personalize a memorial tree as a way to “remember those who can’t be with us this holiday season.” This year, 70 individual trees, including the community tree, will fill the lawn of the town hall this holiday season; this is an addition of almost twenty trees from prior years. The Schaghticoke Highway Department prepared the lawn making it possible for more trees to be added to the memorial.

Morgan6-3Morgan 6 - These 6 puppies are approx 8 weeks old.  They received their first booster.  They are 3 to 5 lbs each.  They will be medium sized dogs.

Stillwater Police arrested Anthony E. Deschaine (age 22) of Mechanicville and charged him with Petit Larceny (misdemeanor) following a shoplifting complaint at Price Chopper. The subject stole beer and snacks from the store. He was issued an appearance ticket for Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

Stillwater Police arrested Laurie L. Thrane (age 46) of Johnsonville and charged her with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration (misdemeanor) following a vehicle stop on County Route 76. She was processed and released to appear in Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

Hale (age 17) of Glenville and charged her with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration (misdemeanor) and Operating without Insurance (infraction) following a vehicle stop on Hudson Ave. She was processed and released to appear in Stillwater Town Court. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Alex Dunn.

Stillwater Police have referred a 15 year old to Saratoga County Probation for what would have been the misdemeanor charge of Aggravated Harassment if the individual was an adult. The referral followed an incident at Stillwater Central School in which a student was harassed. The investigation was handled by Ptl. Tom Sawyer.

Carol Ann Lavertue – 77

STILLWATER - Carol Ann Lavertue of Hudson Avenue passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Saratoga Center for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Ballston Spa. She was 77.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-7:00pm on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday morning in the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Stillwater.

McKinley David Dsenoyers – 20

STILLWATER – McKinley David Desnoyers, 20, died Tuesday, Nov. 10th at EllisHospital, after being stricken.

Funeral Service 7 PM Friday at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.  Calling hours Friday from 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home.
