Wellspring, formerly Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services of Saratoga County, has been a presence in the community since its humble beginnings as an all-volunteer organization in the 1970’s. Through the years, the organization has incorporated and grown to meet the needs of area residents, educating, empowering and assisting them in getting the help that they need.

Saratoga Co. Studying Body Cameras for Deputies – by H. Wessell

BALLSTON SPA,  January 28 – The recently formed Saratoga Board of Supervisors subcommittee on adopting body cameras as standard equipment for its patrol officers met for the first time last week. Over probably several months, according to chairman and Clifton Park Supervisor Philip Barrett, the panel will consider several aspects of the issue, including review of equipment and  video storage options; presentations on the  experience of other law enforcement agencies; usage policies and protocols and procedures developed by other policing departments. It is expected to develop  a recommendation to the Public Safety Committee and the full Board of Supervisors, hopefully he said  in time to include initial purchases in the 2016 County Budget.

Year of Positive Transition for Saratoga Board of Supervisors – by H. Wessell

BALLSTON SPA, January 2 – New Chairman of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Matthew Veitch showed his readiness to get to work when, escorted by colleagues into the Board Chamber at the annual organizational meeting on Friday, he went directly to the Chairman‘s seat and was about to conduct business, when he was reminded he first had to take the oath of office.
