John R. Fascia – 87

The Honorable John R. Fascia, lifelong resident of Mechanicville, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his residence with his loving family at his side. He was 87.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-5pm on Sunday, January 18 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday at 12 noon at the All Saints on the Hudson, South Church 121 N. Main Street. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

MECHANICVILLE – Florence A. Luciano, 89, of Warsaw Avenue, died Tuesday, Jan. 13th, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Troy, after a brief illness.

Josephine DeMarco Russom – 99

MECHANICVILLE – Josephine DeMarco Russom, 99, died peacefully Tuesday at Maplewood Manor, just 7 months shy of her 100th Birthday. Born in Mechanicville, August 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucia DiNata DeMarco.

Kathleen E. DeVito – 71

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Kathleen E. DeVito, 71, of Boynton Beach, Florida and Saratoga Springs, NY entered into heaven on January 6, 2015 peacefully and unexpectedly with her husband and brother by her side.

Hazel Dodd Flatley – 90

STILLWATER – Hazel Dodd Flatley, 90, of Hudson Ave., died Thursday evening, Jan. 8th at Van Rensselaer Manor, after an extended illness. Born in Quaker Springs, Feb. 24, 1924, daughter of the late Percival and Harriet Griffen Dodd, and wife for 48 years to the late William Flatley, who died in 2009.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 7 PM at Stillwater United Church, Hudson Ave.,Stillwater.  Burial to be scheduled in the spring. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 PM at the Stillwater United Church.   In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice, Alzheimer’s Assoc. or a charity of one’s choice. STILLWATER – Mrs. Ida Nutting Elting, 83, of Meehan Road, died Friday, January 2nd, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Troy after a brief illness.

Carol Olsen Lavazzo - 68

MECHANICVILLE – Carol Olsen Lavazzo, 68, of Broadway, died suddenly at home, Saturday morning, Dec. 27th, after being stricken.  Carol had battled breast cancer and  respiratory issues for some time.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan 2nd at 1 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.  Entombment in Saratoga National Cemetery.
