City to Have Bike Patrol & New Fire Truck
By late June Mechanicville will have a bike patrol. Local businesses have offered to make enough donations to purchase bikes and uniforms. He said this is unlikely to cost the taxpayers anything.

Malta to Lower speed Limit – by H. Wessell
MALTA, May 2, 2016 – The Town of Malta has over many years fielded numerous resident requests to petition the state Department of Transportation for speed limit reductions and other traffic control changes. Nearly all cases faced routine denials. Supervisor Vincent DeLucia and several Town Board and staff members recently took the concern to Albany in person, with direct support from Round Lake Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, along with other area legislators.

Rock n’ Derby Coming to Schaghticoke – by C. Barton
Schaghticoke- The Rock’n Derby will soon arrive at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds for the 2016 inaugural event. The Rockn’Derby put on by SLP Concerts and GameLoud will be held from Friday, May 20th through Sunday May 22nd. In addition to three days, three stages and a musical lineup of over 40 of rock music’s greatest bands, the weekend will also host a variety of other activities for event goers.

Ab Wiley Honored – by C. Barton
Schaghticoke- Abbott (Ab) Wiley was recently honored for his 70 years of service by the Victor Masonic Lodge #680 in Schaghticoke. Wiley shared how he came to be a member of the lodge, which he says, has been in existence for over 200 years. Wiley, 99 years old, is a proud lifelong resident of the Town of Pittstown. Wiley grew up in Pittstown on his family farm before he began his military service in WWII in 1941.

Dora E. (Fantauzzi) DeCasperis, 86
SOUTH WINDSOR , CT - Beloved wife of the late Anthony DeCasperis, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 11, 1930 in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Damiano and Maria (Vellucci) Fantauzzi.
Her family received friends on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Margaret March Church in South Windsor.
Burial was at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor.
