Girl Scout Troop #1891 based in Schaghticoke has plans to recognize and honor the week that commemorates the history and mission of Girl Scout Troops across America. The Girl Scouts began in 1912 by founder, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. Low officially registered the organizations first 18 Girl Scouts in her hometown of Savannah Georgia on March 12th 1912. Each year the Girl Scouts celebrate the week that includes March 12th with activities, events and projects that reflect the mission of the organization and Low's vision of, “building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”
