Sister Antonia Lanzone, MSC

DOBBS FERRY - Sister Antonia Lanzone MSC (Elizabeth) died on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the St. Cabrini Nursing Home located in Dobbs Ferry, N. Y.
Sister Antonia was the daughter of the late Vincenzo Lanzone and Lucia Ferrara Lanzone. She was born in Mechanicville on July 24, 1926 and graduated from Mechanicville High School. Shortly thereafter, she entered the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on September 8, 1947. This began a life of service and devotion to our Lord that spanned sixty-six plus years.

Services will be private for the family and held at the Cabrini Nursing Home. For those wishing to express a remembrance of Sister Antonia donations can be made to the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Donations should be sent to St. Cabrini Nursing Home, 115 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522.

Thomas Q. Adams – 67

MECHANICVILLE – Thomas Q. Adams, 67, died peacefully on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.  Born inAlbany, May 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Walsh Adams. 

Tom attended St. Paul’s Parochial School, was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Siena College Graduate and continued his education at New York University(NYU) and City University of New York(CUNY) where he received his Masters Degree.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday evening at 7:15PM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. Calling hours will also be held at the church on Friday, prior to the Mass, from 4-7PM.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

James “Giant” Gorsky – 61

MECHANICVILLE – James “Giant” Gorsky, 61, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and formerly of Mechanicville, died suddenly, Sunday, February 16, at the Cleveland Clinic in West Florida, after being stricken at his home.  Born in Troy, October 31, 1952, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Guile Gorsky. 

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to American Heart Assoc, in fond memory of James Gorsky.
