Rensselaer County- On April 30th 2016 the 53rd annual Rensselaer County Dairy Princess Banquet and Pageant took place at the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps. The panel of judges who select the Dairy Princess candidate look for a young woman who best epitomizes the wholesome quality of milk, and will act as a responsible and dedicated spokesperson for the New York State Dairy Industry.

HALFMOON – On Wednesday April 20th Hillcrest Fire Department put together a joint training along with neighboring departments; Halfmoon – Waterford Fire Department and Hemstreet Park Fire Department to educate their firefighters on how to handle a solar panel emergency situation.
The firefighters took a tour of the 13 acre solar panels on Cary Road followed by a two hour educational training at Hillcrest’s station.

It’s a rite of spring here in the Mechanicville area, as it has been for forty years! On Saturday, May 14, at Mechanicville High School’s Paul N. Luther Auditorium, the Dorothy Welch Choral Society will present their annual concert rich in patriotic songs, with emphasis on honoring our four branches of the military service. The choir is directed by Vern Hellijas with piano accompaniment by Kathy Funaro.

MECHANICVILLE APRIL 30- Saturday was opening day for the Mechanicville Stillwater Little League. the annual parade started at Tallmadge Park at 9 M and finished at George Pickett Field. Louie Marcella handled the introduction of every team, player and coach at the opening day ceremonies
The Earl J Manning American Legion Post 490 is happy to announce this year’s Miss Poppy is Ryleigh Quinn Seamon. Ryleigh is nine years old and attends Forest Park Elementary School in Colonie. Very much an athlete, she is involved in softball, gymnastics and competitive cheerleading.

TOWN OF WATERFORD, April 26 – At the Town Board agenda meeting this day, Town Engineer Dominick Gabriel reported that Waterford at some point will be entering into a water contract with the City of Cohoes, and will have one with the City of Troy.
