Route 7 Paving in Rensselaer County is Under Way

Motorists are advised that paving is under way on sections of Route 7 in the Rensselaer County towns of Pittstown and Hoosick.

Paving work will involve alternating single lane closures controlled by flaggers. Work and lane closures will occur along various stretches daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is expected to last approximately six weeks.

Paving will occur on the following segments of Route 7:

  • Just east of Lake Shore Drive to 1,000 feet west of Parker School Road in Pittstown
  • 1,500 feet east of the easternmost intersection with Route 22 to 600 feet west of the Bennington Connector in Hoosick
  • 800 feet east of the Bennington Connector to 1,000 feet west of the stateline with Vermont

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through this construction zone, for their own safety and the safety of workers.
