The CR-111 bridge in Johnsonville has been closed since September of 2013. It was closed immediately following an inspection by NYSDOT who issued a red flag PIA for the CR-111 bridge due to noted deterioration of the structure members. The highway department was unable to make necessary repairs in 24 hours so an immediate closure was necessary for safety

MECHANICVILLE – Rocco J. Camerato, 89, of So Main St, died early Monday morning at Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, he was born on April 1, 1927, son of the late Fred and Marietta Enzogna Camerato. A 1945 MechanicvilleHigh School graduate, “Rocky” joined the US Marine Corps, proudly serving his country until being honorably discharged in 1946.

A Mass of Christian Burial at the church will be on Thursday at 11AM with military honors and burial to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery. Bonesteel is a member of the Union College Class of 2018 majoring in Political Science and Russian and East Europeam Studies.
ONEONTA, NY (04/19/2016)-- A total of 139 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2015-2016 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher.
Student award winners received a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Susan Bernardin, professor of English at SUNY Oneonta, delivered this year's lecture on Tuesday, April 12, in the Craven Lounge of the college's Morris Conference Center. Bernardin is the 22nd recipient of the Susan Sutton Smith Faculty Prize for Academic Excellence, created to recognize faculty achievement outside the classroom and named in memory of the late SUNY Oneonta professor of English.

Stillwater April 15- On Friday night the Stillwater high school gym was a packed house for the "Two communities one heart" annual basketball tournament honoring Shirley Bryant and Kelli Lewis. Each of their families received $3300.

MECHANICVILLE APRIL 14 & 16- Thanks to the generosity of the Valley Cats baseball team of the New York-Penn League, field B and the pee wee field were refurbished. Many local volunteers helped in the effort.
THE STILLWATERS, April 15 – The Town and Village have already partnered on an extensive waterfront rezoning initiative. Now, they have put their heads together on a process that will go hand in hand: to take a long look at the zoning in the Town, for which Chazen Engineers and Planning4Places were selected to develop it. An introductory "Zoning Update Kickoff" with various town and local organization leaders took place Friday morning.
