Carolyn Corcoran Inducted into Beta Beta Beta National Honor Society

335 Graduates Honored at December Recognition Ceremony

ONEONTA, NY (02/01/2017)-- More than 300 students met requirements for graduation from SUNY Oneonta following the Fall 2016 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. They also are eligible to participate in the college's commencement on May 13.

Kevin DeMarco Receives Degree from Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, GA (01/30/2017)-- Kevin DeMarco of Waterford, NY, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical & Computer Engr from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

DeMarco was among approximately 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech's 252nd Commencement exercises on December 16-17, 2016, at the McCamish Pavilion.

Local Student, Allison Reinhardt, Earn Dean's List Honors at Saint Joseph's University

PHILADELPHIA, PA (01/30/2017)-- Allison Reinhardt, of Clifton Park, NY (12065), earned Dean's List honors at Saint Joseph's University for the Fall 2016 semester. Reinhardt studies Professional and Liberal Stud in the University's Professional Liberal Studies. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above, a B or greater in all their classes, and complete at least 15 credits to earn dean's list status for a semester.

Erin Dougherty, of Halfmoon, Earns Coveted Spot on the Assumption College Women's Swimming and Diving

WORCESTER, MA (01/30/2017)-- The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Erin Dougherty, of Halfmoon, has earned a coveted spot on the 2016-17 Assumption College Women's Swimming and Diving team. Dougherty, Class of 2017, is competing during the Greyhounds' season.

The team is led by seniors Erin Dougherty, Rachel Gagnon, McKenzie Johnson, Rachel Lanam, Tricia Lee, and Allie Wuerfl under Stuart Cromarty's ninth season as head coach. The Greyhounds have placed either first or second in every swim meet this season, including second at the WPI Gompei Invitational. The Hounds look forward to hopefully clinching their fourth consecutive Northeast-10 Confrence Championship title.

Sarah LaPidus Named to Dean's List at University of Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN (01/30/2017)-- Sarah Janne LaPidus of Clifton Park, NY was named to the Dean's List at the University of Memphis for the fall 2016 semester.

The Dean's List is composed of students who have earned 12 or more hours in either the fall or spring semester with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for that semester.

Alfred A. Perrotta – 96

MECHANICVILLE – Alfred A. Perrotta, 96, of Chestnut St., died Wednesday, Feb. 8th at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, after a brief illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St.Mechanicville.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Friday from 4-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to American Cancer Society, Wounded Warrior Project or a charity on one’s choice, in respectful memory of Alfred A. Perrotta.

MECHANICVILLE – Gloria J. Zullo, 81, of East Street, died Saturday, Jan 28th at Samaritan Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.

Coastal Carolina University announces Dean's List for Fall 2016
