John T. Thompson, Jr. – 57

MECHANICVILLE – John T. Thompson, Jr, 57, of William St, died unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on Friday, August 23rd.

Military honors and burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, August 27th at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at the cemetery visitor’s center at 9:45AM. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH  45250-0301 in memory of John Thompson, Jr.

Angela M. Cavotta - 72

MECHANICVILLE - Angela M. Cavotta, 72, of Johnson Road, died peacefully on August 5th at Mary’s Haven with her faithful and loving husband at her side, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11AM at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 U.S. 9, Round Lake, NY 12151 with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours for friends and family at the CHURCH prior to the Mass will be held from 9 to 10:45AM.

The Cavotta family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, remembrances in Angela’s memory be made to the Angela M. Cavotta Memorial Scholarship, C/O DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118.

STILLWATER – Irene Mary Koper Schweder, 93, longtime resident of County Route 75, died peacefully on Sunday, August 4th at the Glendale Home following a long illness.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.  Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 PM.

MECHANICVILLE – Thomas S. Ryan, 91, of Mechanicville passed away peacefully on July 20, 2019 at Eddy Village Green, Cohoes.

Calling hours will be Thursday, July 25 from 4-7pm at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville and funeral mass will be at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Paul) on July 26 at 10AM.

MECHANICVILLE – Elizabeth M. “Betty” Whalen, 76, died Sunday, July 21st, at her sister’s home, after an extended illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 25th at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be held at All Saints on the Hudson Church, prior to the mass from 10-11AM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Shiners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, Mass, 01104.
