Mary O’Brien – Pillar of RPI

Mary Alice O’Brien, director of integrated administrative computing services and acting manager of business support and application services, says that she has always appreciated the Pillar of Rensselaer Award, and what it stands for as a staff member. A Rensselaer employee for 36 years, O’Brien is the recipient of the 2015 Pillar of Rensselaer Award.

Schaghticoke Veterans Hall – by C. Barton

The Veterans Hall located at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds held the last open house for the 2015 season on Sunday October 4th. The Veterans Hall is made possible by a group of local volunteers from the area that began this project as a way to thank, honor and remember all veterans for their service. Veterans Hall continues to be a, “Salute to All Veterans Past and Present.”

Pets for Adoption – Adirondack Save-A-Stray

bullie 1Border Collie mix puppies - These little peanuts come from a very high kill shelter in a rural area down south. They have been vet checked, vaccinated, wormed and  more. For more info please call the shelter or come by to meet these and all our other babies.

IMG_2543Creamsicle - Meet Creamsicle, a very handsome and friendly 3 years old. He is neutered, has his shots and is vet checked. He was dropped off at our shelter as an unwanted pet. He is a wonderful boy that seems to be very affectionate.

IMG_2876Cutie Pie Bullies -These little babies were picked up off the side of the road just before a massive rain storm, luckily they are safe and sound at a fosters home now. These two cuties are 8 week old Pit Bull mixes, they have been vet checked, have their age appropriate shots and have been de-wormed. Mechanicville Takes The Indian Bowl – Photos by Kim Henes

STILLWATER OCTOBER 2- Jacob Henes scored 3 touchdowns and Marc DeBates scored 2 touchdowns to lead the Raiders. Henes scored on runs of 65 and 14 yards, and caught a 65 yard touchdown pass. He scored on a 2 point conversion run and kicked all 4 extra points. As a result he scored 24 points and was named Player of the Game.

Schaghticoke Harvest Festival – by C. Barton

Schaghticoke- On Saturday September 26th from 12noon to 4pm the Hoosic Valley Community Partners and the Schaghticoke Entertainment Committee hosted the annual community Harvest Festival at the Schaghticoke Town Hall. This same gazebo only a few short weeks ago was the platform for the many  great bands that offered the community, “music in the open air,” with the Schaghticoke Summer Eve concerts.
