Barbara Marshall Sgambati – 75

MECHANICVILLE – Barbara Marshall Sgambati, 75, of No. Central Ave., died Wednesday, March 25, at Saratoga Care Ctr., Ballston Spa, after an extended illness.

Born in Poughkeepsie, June 5, 1939, daughter of the late Clifton and Catherine Wixted Marshall, Barb was also predeceased by her brother Robert Marshall, who died in 2014.

A homemaker, Barb enjoyed embroidering and bingo, daily telephone visiting with family and friends.  A proud Mother and Grandmother, Barb loved her family.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years Stephen W. “Billy” Sgambati, her beloved daughter Darlene and husband Bill Reil of Pasadena, Md., two precious grandsons Joshua and Nathan Reil, along with in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment in Memory’s Garden, Colonie. There will be no public services.

Remembrances may be made to Mechanicville/Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk, 270 So. Main St., Mechanicville, 12118 in memory of Barbara Marshall Sgambati.

Lucia “Lucy” A. Sgambati – 88

MECHANICVILLE – Lucia “Lucy” A. Sgambati, 88, of Saratoga Ave., died early Christmas Eve morning at Samaritan Hospital in the loving company of her husband and children.  A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, she was born July 27, 1925, daughter of the late Dominick and Angela Giulianelli Forte.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday Dec. 27th at 9 AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at the church on Thursday, Dec. 26th from 3-7 PM.

For those wishing to remember Lucy in a special way, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to John Ahearn Rescue Squad, PO Box 669, Mechanicville, or All Saints on the Hudson Endowment Fund, 52 William Street, Mechanicville, in loving memory of Lucy A. Sgambati.
