Acra, NY and Burlington, NC - Harold Webster 80, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home in Burlington, NC holding his loving wife Kathy's hand with family by his side.

Harold was born June 6, 1933 in Acra, NY to Raymond and Theresa Webster. Harold grew up in the small town of Acra enjoying the Catskill Mountains in his back yard.

Hilda May Beecroft – 88

MECHANICVILLE – Hilda May Beecroft, 88, died peacefully at her home, Tuesday Sept. 24th.  A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born May 28, 1925, daughter of the late Gordon and Louise Smith, Hilda was a 1943 graduate of Mechanicville High School.  She retired from the NYS Dept. of Tax and Finance in Sept. 1990.

She was a member of the Mechanicville United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

William F. Heslin, III – 59

SCHAGHTICOKE - William F. Heslin, III, of Casey Road passed away on Thursday, Sept.19,2013 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy with his loving family at his side. He was 59.

Born in Troy, NY on October 19, 1953, son of  the late William and Jane Wadsworth Heslin, II.

Bill worked for the Stephen Bader Company in Valley Falls as a machinist for 41 years.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00am on Tues., Sept. 24, in the family plot in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle.

Agnes A. Burdick – 91

MECHANICVILLE - Agnes A.Burdick of South Street passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was 91.

Born in Hillsdale on December 9,1921, daughter of the late Ambrose and Alta(Wagner)Wilcox. She is predeceased by her husband Walter J. Burdick,Sr. whom passed away in 1975.

Agnes was a mother and homemaker,she is survived by the love of her life for the last 37 years,Joseph Borter, her children Bob(Barbara)Burdick,Carol Miller(Richard),Cora(Don)Chaput,Dorothy(Ralph)Pence,Richard Burdick(Michelle),Frank Burdick(Tammy),Kim Evans,Agnes(Steve)Barmash and Janet(Eric)Bilik,daugher-in-law Theresa Burdick,special friend Emma Thurber and five generations of family.

She is predeceased by her children Bill Burdick,Marie Mitchell,Walter J. Burdick,Jr. and Elmer Burdick.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, September 18 at the Elmwood Hill Cemetery,51 Belle Ave.,(off Pinewoods Ave.),Troy.

Cynthia Marie Aiardo – 65

MECHANICVILLE – Cynthia Marie Aiardo, 65, of South Main St., died peacefully at her home, Tuesday, Sept. 10th, in the loving company of her family.

Born in Troy, January 30, 1948, daughter of the late William and Grace McGuire Shaw, she was the widow of Vincent James Aiardo, who died in 1998.

A homemaker, Cindy loved raising her children and helping with her grandchildren, who were her whole life. She led a true Mothers life, caring for her family, first and foremost.

Survivors include her five children: Lisa and Tim Plasencia and Vincent J and Pamela Aiardo all of Mechanicville, Lynn (Labar Tillman) Hayner of Troy, Jacqueline and Tony Signorelli of Schroon Lake, Cindy and Joe Garrett of Land O Lakes, Fla, adored grandchildren: Timmy Plasencia, Jr., William Hayner III and Samantha Hayner, Vincent J. Aiardo, IV, along with a number of brothers and sisters, in-laws and their families.

Private services were held at the convenience of her family.

Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville.

Remembrances can be made to either Community Hospice or American Cancer Society in loving memory of Cynthia “Cindy” Aiardo.

DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary C. Hunter – 88

MECHANICVILLE – Mrs. Mary C. Hunter, 88, of No. Main St., died Wednesday morning, Sept. 11th, at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa, after an extended illness.

Born in Pennsylvania, March 27, 1925, she was the widow of Charles Hunter who died in 1987 and mother of a son Thomas Hunter, who died in 2010.

A homemaker, Mary and family operated the Valley Inn in Valley Falls for a number of years, and had also worked for the NYS Dept. of Tax and Finance for several years.

Mary loved working with crafts such as knitting and crocheting, and enjoyed cooking for her family.  She was a member of the Mid-Rise Tenants Assoc.

 

Survivors include son Charles (Kimberly) Hunter of Holiday, Fla, Cathy (Mark Tryneszewski) Dougall of Mechanicville, Richard (Victoria) Hunter of Valley Falls and Denny Hunter of Schuylerville, a daughter-in-law Darlene Hunter of Troy, and a number of grand and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 3 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.  Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.

Calling hours at the Funeral Home, Saturday from 1-3 PM.

Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Mary C. Hunter.

Mary Alice Whalen – 97

MECHANICVILLE – Mary Alice Whalen, 97, of Kennedy Garden Apts., died Wednesday morning, Sept. 11th, at St. Mary’s Hospital, after a brief illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born March 15, 1916, daughter of the late Finley T. and Bridget Donohue Cash, Mary Alice was a 1934 graduate of Mechanicville High School.

A homemaker, Mary Alice was an avid reader, was a member of the Mechanicville Area Senior Citizens, and loved tending to and being in the company of her son, grandson and his family.

Her husband Joseph M. Whalen died at age 56, many years ago.

She was also predeceased by her sister Loretta Graves.

Survivors include her son Lawrence Whalen of Mechanicville, grandson Lawrence and Marsha Whalen, Jr. ofRotterdam, great granddaughters Britney and Kelsey Whalen, a sister in law Marian Whalen of Latham, along with nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14th, at a time to be announced at All Saints on the HudsonSouth Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Friday from 5-7 PM.
