Joseph Bruno Jr.

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Joseph A Bruno, Jr., 98, of Willsboro, NY. Joe passed away very peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Angels Senior Living in Tampa, FL surrounded by his loving wife, Blanche; daughter, Cathy and son in law Rick.
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his loving memory to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society. Burial will be in the Memorial Cemetery, Willsboro, NY.

Calling hours were Friday, December 29, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 at the Ross Funeral Home, 25 Maple Street, Willsboro.  A funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ric Feeney officiating.

Edward J. Russell, Sr. 92

HALFMOON – Edward J. Russell, Sr., 92, of Raylinsky Lane, died peacefully on Tuesday January 16th, at Ellis Hospital, following a brief illness.  Born in Stillwater, April 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles and Malvina Russell.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 AM at All Saints on the Hudson SouthChurch, 121 N Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with military honors and entombment to follow atSt. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville on Friday from 4-8 PM.

ALBANY – Luis E. Pagan, 50, of Philips St., died Tuesday, Jan 16th, at home

after being stricken with cardiac failure.

Awards and Achievements – Local College Students

Mattison Drinkwater makes the Dean's List at Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY, SC (01/17/2018)-- Mattison Drinkwater, of Mechanicville, NY, majoring in special education, was among 2,419 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean's List.

To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

 

SUNY Oswego announces area December 2017 graduates

OSWEGO, NY (01/16/2018)-- More than 325 students -- including several from the area -- completed their baccalaureate studies at SUNY Oswego in fall 2017 and were recognized during Commencement in December.

Coastal Carolina University announces Fall 2017 President's List

CONWAY, SC (01/16/2018)-- Coastal Carolina University has announced that 814 students made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the 2017 Fall Semester. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and must be enrolled full time.

Buffalo State Announces Fall 2017 Dean's List

MECHANICVILLE – Primar A. “Bunny” Palmer, 97, of Stillwater Ave., died Sunday, Jan 14th at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 AM at All Saints on the Hudson North Church (St. Peter’s) 895 Hudson Ave, Stillwater. Burial with military honors to follow at Saratoga National cemetery.
