Doris L. Salisbury – 74

CHARLTON, NY-Doris L. Salisbury, age 74, of Callaghan Boulevard died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on May 1, 2019 at Ellis Hospital. Doris was born on November 27, 1944 in Troy, New York and was the daughter of the late William A. and Doris (Coonradt) Cary.

There will be a private ceremony for family members.

Sylma E. Rockefeller – 98

MECHANICVILLE -After 98 years, 10 Months, and 10 days; the soul of Sylma E. Rockefeller slipped from the earth in the presence of her Daughter and Son-In-Law, Sylma E. and Arthur D. LeBlanc on May 2, 2019.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at The Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue in Mechanicville from 1 pm – 4 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:00 am from St. Luke’s On the Hill, 40 McBride Road in Mechanicville with Father David Haig officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hudson View Cemetery in Mechanicville in the family plot.

Miss Josephine Valerina Mareno – 96

 

MECHANICVILLE--Miss Josephine Valerina Mareno, 96, of William Street, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at The Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, NY after a brief illness.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 4th at 10AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 North Main Street, Mechanicville, NY 12118, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the Mass, from 9 to 10AM.

 

Remembrances may be made to the Fr. Joe Scerbo Memorial Fund, 52 William Street, Mechanicville, NY 12118, in loving memory of Josephine V. Mareno.

Lawrence D. Marshall – 87

HALFMOON –  Lawrence D. Marshall, 87, of Vosburgh Rd, died on April 30th at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness.  Born in Stillwater, on August 6, 1931, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Marshall.

 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 1-4PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 with a funeral home service to follow beginning at 4PM.

Military honors and burial will be held at NOON on Monday, May 6th at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.  Those wishing to attend are asked to be at the visitor’s center at 11:45AM.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Mechanicville United Methodist Church in memory of Lawrence D. Marshall.

Robert J. Tassi – 83

 

MECHANICVILLE – Robert J. Tassi, 83, of No. Lincoln St., Hemstreet Park, died Tuesday, April 30th, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, Guilderland, after an extended illness.

Survivors include his faithful cousins; Debbie (Jim) Horner and her children Jim Horner and Melissa Horner-Williams, John Michael “Oscar” Zullo, Donna Matteo Keller, Vincent(Karen) Matteo, Michael(Cindy) Marra, and Marilyn(Joe) Zumbo along with several other cousins and many lifelong friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 3rd at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St.

Calling hours will be held at the Church prior to the mass on Friday from 9 – 10:45AM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the All Saints on the Hudson Church or the National Kidney Foundation, in respectful memory of Robert J. Tassi.

Emily Morgan-Meier D'Aquila beloved daughter, wife, niece, granddaughter, cousin & loyal friend, passed on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the home she shared with her husband in Jacksonville FL.  She was 23.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:30-7:30pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville, New York 12118.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am on Friday, April 26 at the Arts Center on the Hudson, 2 South Main Street, Mechanicville, New York 12118 with Pastor Roscoe Lilly of Starpoint Church, Clifton Park officiating.

Please note that Emily’s family will have a private committal service in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
