STILLWATER – Dr. Joseph A. Benamati, Jr, of Park Ave, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 15th at Samaritan Hospital, after being stricken at his home.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 20 from 3-6PM at All Saints on the Hudson Church(St. Paul’s), 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118.  A Funeral Mass at the church on Monday will begin at 10AM with military honors and burial to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Joe in a special way are asked to continue to support all that Joe worked so hard for in life.  Please donate to ANDRUS, Attn Development, 1156 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701 in his memory.

Charles J. Sommer – 88

MECHANICVILLE – Charles J. Sommer, 88 of So. Second Ave, died Saturday, Oct 12th at Stratton VA Medical Center Albany.

A Burial Service will be conducted on Friday at 11:30 AM at Saratoga National Cemetery.  Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at Cemetery entrance by 11:15 AM Friday.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, in respectful memory of Charles J. Sommer.

MECHANICVILLE – Louis Benamati, 94, of So. Second Ave., died Saturday evening at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville.  Burial with military honors to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery.

Calling hours at the North Main Street Church on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, in memory of Lou Benamati.

Paul H. McDonald – 90

MECHANICVILLE - Paul H. McDonald, 90, of 80 Dewey Avenue, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3rd, after a brief illness, at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 19 at St. Mary’s Church Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road, Crescent from 9 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville.

In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of one’s choice in memory of Paul H. McDonald.

Louise Russo

MECHANICVILLE – With her work on earth completed, Louise Russo was called to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 29, 2019.  The beloved daughter of the late Giuseppe and Carmella Russo, Louise was born September 22, 1925 in Mechanicville, NY. She attended school in Mechanicville and started her work career at Berk Ray Factory in Troy, as a seamstress.

Calling hours will take place at Highway Tabernacle , 235 Hudson Ave., Mechanicville on Friday, October 4th from 10-11AM followed by a celebration of Louise's life starting at 11AM with Pastor Robert Desnoyers officiating. Burial will follow at Hudson View Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Louise's memory to Highway Tabernacle's Missions Dept., 235 Hudson Ave., Mechanicville, NY 12118.

Rose Verdile Frydel – 86

MECHANICVILLE –  Rose Verdile Frydel, 86, of George Thompson Rd, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 18th at Saratoga Hospital with her loving family by her side.  Born in Mechanicville on August 10, 1933, daughter of the late Dominick and Theresa Verdile, she was a 1950 graduate of Mechanicville High School.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 23rd at 10AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Peter’s), 895 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater, NY 12170 with burial to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

 

Because there are no calling hours, Rose’s family strongly suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 510 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in loving memory of Rose A. Frydel.
