Aspiring Actors Audition for iTheatrics – by Christine Barton

Schaghticoke-Seven Hoosic Valley students had the unique opportunity to audition for iTheatrics in New York City. iTheatrics adapts Broadway musicals for elementary, middle and high school performances. Ms. LaCourse has been the director for the elementary school play and the Pleasant House Players, for several years now. When she came across the information that iTheatrics was accepting nominations for auditions she nominated seven students who are actively involved in theatre at Hoosic Valley. “I would have been happy just that they did it,” says Ms. LaCourse, who was very proud when she found out that “they all made it.”

Christopher Smith, Braden Jarosz, Ellie Carlson-McNally, Sarah Carlson-McNally, Woodrow Miller, Marlee Peterson and Logan Seymour made the trip to New York City for their first Broadway audition. Prior to their audition, Ms. LaCourse held a workshop to help the students practice. 600 students auditioned for iTheatrics and 250 were chosen. All seven of the Hoosic Valley students who auditioned made the cut. “We all came out smiling because we were the best school there, said Logan. ”
