JUNE 6- The Hoosic Valley Indians baseball team won their regional game and are heading to the State Tournament for the second year in a row. The reigning state champions beat Norwood in an 11-1 drubbing. Senior John Rooney earned the win on the hill going a strong four innings with six strikeouts.

New York State has provided monetary support for schools since it enacted its first public education law in 1795. Early records of the town of Schaghticoke note the appointment of school commissioners in 1796.
