Friends of Mechanicville Library Host Raffle – by J. Dugan

The Friends of the Mechanicville District Public Library are hosting a raffle to help “Chase the Winter Blahs Away.” This event features themed baskets designed to appeal to a variety of interests. Raffle tickets are available at the library or from Friends members and cost just $1 each or six for $5. The drawing will take place on Wednesday, March 25 at the Friends of the Library meeting. Winners will be notified and do not need to be present to win.

Tickets on sale now for Friends of the Stillwater Free Library Ladies Night Raffle – by J Dugan

The ever popular Ladies Night at the Stillwater Free Library is fast approaching and this year the Friends of the Library are putting a new spin on things. The event, which sees a large turn-out each year, is typically first come first served when it comes to seating. However, this year the Friends of the Stillwater Free Library are offering up a chance to win a much coveted front row table thanks to their V.I.P. Pass raffle.

Troy Church Raffles AR-15 Rifle- by Christine Barton

Troy- A 10am service on Sunday March 23rd drew a large crowd to the Grace Baptist Church on Fourth Avenue in Troy. A flyer sent out titled  “Win a Free AR-15” has caused controversy and national attention over the past few weeks.

Those attending the service were welcome to register to win a NY-legally modified AR-15 at a drawing-taking place at the Sunday service. Pastor Koletas informed the crowd that “instead of giving away one modified rifle, we will be giving away two.” This comment by Koletas received an “Amen” from the crowd.  “I feel just as strongly about taking care of people as I do about the Second Amendment says Koletas.
