Johnsonville-On Thursday June 6th 2013 the Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Company was presented with a check for $21,000 from the Brookfield Renewable Energy Group. This generous contribution will enable the Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Company, established in 1916, to purchase new swift water rescue equipment. The Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Company serves the towns of Pittstown and Schaghticoke.
According to Brookfield General Manager of New York East Operations, Thomas Uncher, the donation was made through Brookfield’s Community Investment Initiative. Brookfield Renewable Energy Group owns and operates 75 hydropower facilities throughout New York State, two of those being on the Hoosic River. The group proactively promotes year round water safety initiatives
