Joseph R. Izzo – 72

MECHANICVILLE – Joseph R. Izzo, 72, former resident of Mechanicville, died Monday Oct. 20th, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, after an extended illness.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23rd at 2 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.A gathering will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday from 1 PM until the 2 PM service. Carmella Adeline Sgambati Izzo – 98

MECHANICVILLE – Carmella Adeline Sgambati Izzo, 98, of Park Place, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Mechanicville on June 9, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Stefano and Emilia Sgambati and wife of the late Sanford L. Izzo, Sr.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Ahearn Rescue Squad in loving memory of Carmella A. Izzo.

Catherine “Kate” Izzo – 90

MECHANICVILLE – Catherine “Kate” Russo Izzo, 90, of Saratoga Ave., died Tuesday morning March 12th at Maplewood Manor, after an extended illness.  A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born June 1, 1922, daughter of the late Salvatore and Frances Parente Russo, she was a 1940 graduate of Mechanicville High School and had attended Oneonta State College.
