Waterford Names Tugboat of The Year

The Tug Cheyenne was built by Ira S. Bushey of Brooklyn in 1965 as the Glenwood for service on the NYS Canals. Like many canal tugs of her era, she was outfitted with a hydraulic pilot house that would raise for increased visibility, and lower to clear the bridges of the Canal System. In 1970, the boat was acquired by Spentonbush Towing and renamed Cheyenne.  Also in the 70's, Amerada Hess bought the boat.   Later, sold to Empire Harbor Marine which became "Albany Port Ventures."

In 2009, this single-screw, 1,800 hp tug was bought by Donjon Marine, one of the Roundup's long time sponsors.
