Amber Howe of Stillwater graduates from Harding University
SEARCY, AR (06/09/2016)-- Amber Howe of Stillwater (12170) is one of more than 750 graduates who received a diploma at Harding University's commencement exercises May 7, 2016.
Howe received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.
Springfield College Recognizes Dean's List Students for the 2016 Spring Semester
SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/10/2016)-- Springfield College has named the following area students to the dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2016 term. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the semester, the student must not have any incompletes in the designated semester, and the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.

CANTON, NY (06/15/2016)-- More than 450 students earned President's List honors for the spring 2016 semester.
The President's List recognizes students who earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Mechanicville Teachers gibson & Richardson “Teachers of Excellence”
MECHANICVILLE – New York Senator Kathy Marchione (R,C,I-Halfmoon), Chair of the Senate’s Local Government Committee, today presented a “Teacher of Excellence Award” to co-teachers Jerry Gibson and Anne Richardson from Mechanicville Elementary School. Both teachers were each presented with an official Teacher of Excellence Certificate, a Golden Apple Pin and a $500 award for their school.

Mechanicville Valedictorian and Salutatorian Honored – by Sandy McBride
A reception was held in the Mechanicville High School library on Wednesday afternoon to honor Megan Billert, valedictorian, and David Coreno, salutatorian, of the class of 2016. Called “. . . two of the finest young people I’ve had the good fortune to teach . . .” by English teacher Michael Daley, Megan and David were presented with plaques commemorating their achievement.

Mechanicville Scholar Athletes Recognized – by Sandy McBride
Mechanicville Junior/Senior High School Vice Principal Craig Forth welcomed a throng of student/athletes to the gym on Thursday morning to what he termed “an awesome event”. It was the presentation of New York State Public High School Athletic Association pins and certificates to the members of the nine Red Raider winter and spring sports teams which have achieved Team Scholar Athlete status according to the standards required by the state organization.

Schaghticoke- While the official days of summer have not hit yet, June is traditionally known as strawberry season in New York State. Strawberry festivals are one way that communities celebrate and recognize June as the best month to pick and enjoy one of the staples of the season.
