MECHANICVILLE – John J. Sylvester, 97, formerly of Saratoga Ave, died on New Years Eve at the Eddy Memorial in Troy, following a brief illness.  He was born in Mechanicville, June 10, 1920, son of the late Anthony and Anastacia Peluso Sylester.

Calling hours on Monday January 8th from 4 – 7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St Mechanicville, NY 12118. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday the 9th at 9:30am at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118followed by military honors and burial at the Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
