MALTA, September 12 – Last Saturday’s formal debut of the Round Lake Preserve was to many an idea whose time, finally, had come. To the farmers who cared for its land for decades, it was literally, and deeply felt, an answer To prayer.
At the long-awaited ribbon cutting at the preserve, located off Rte. 67 just west of the Malta-Stillwater line, Malta Supervisor Paul Sausville, welcoming participants, lauded Larry Sweeney, the landowner who made it all possible by partnering with the Town of Malta and the private land preservation agency, Saratoga P.L.A.N. (Preserving Land and Nature).
