Schaghticoke to Hold Tree Lighting – By Christine Barton

Schaghticoke-“Remembering those that can’t be with us this holiday season,” is the goal for the first ever tree lighting memorial that will run this year in Schaghticoke throughout the 2013 holiday season. The memorial is titled the “Radiant Peace Tree Lighting Memorial.” The trees will serve as a remembrance of loved ones that have passed. After much creative brainstorming, the committee unanimously agreed on this title because it best describes the sentiment behind the event, which is to “bring a sense of peace to the holidays that are sometimes a difficult time for people,” says Gabrielle Pruso, committee member. The event is made possible through the shared vision and combined efforts of the Hoosic Valley Community Partners and the Schaghticoke Entertainment Committee. The Radiant Peace Committee is actively working to design, develop and make this first ever event possible in the town of Schaghticoke.
