The Hoosic Valley baseball team is state champions once again! In the first game of the state tournament went on two defeat Southold with a score of 2-0 in ten innings. Senior pitcher John Rooney capped off an incredible year on the mound by going the distance despite having to long three extra innings. He finished with 12 strikeouts.

JUNE 6- The Hoosic Valley Indians baseball team won their regional game and are heading to the State Tournament for the second year in a row. The reigning state champions beat Norwood in an 11-1 drubbing. Senior John Rooney earned the win on the hill going a strong four innings with six strikeouts.
Congratulations to John Rooney as he claims the title of All-Time Scoring Leader for Hoosic Valley. John surpassed the record of 1,516 points set by Pat Lanoue in 2008. John broke the record in Hoosic Valley\'92s win over Cambridge last week.
SCHAGHTICOKE NOVEMBER 14- At study hall on Wednesday morning, John Rooney signed his Letter of Intent to attend Division I Hofstra University next year. He was not alone when he signed the Letter. Friends, coaches, teammates, teachers and family were with him. Rooney will play baseball for Hofstra starting in the spring of 2016.
