NYSEG Makes Application; Bridges in Mechanicville – by T. Mahoney

MECHANICVILLE JUNE 30- In order to lift the moratorium in the Mechanicville area for increased natural gas customers, NYSEG will need to construct a compressed gas facility at its location on Central Avenue. The plan is for 2 trucks at a time to deliver compressed natural gas.

Mechanicville Receives Grant for Central Ave Sidewalk – by T. Mahoney

MECHANICVILLE- Supervisor Tom Richardson announced that Mechanicville has received a $100,000 grant from New York State to build the sidewalks on Central Ave. State Senator Kathy Marchione worked with Richardson to find the money to make this possible.

Bob Brown of D.C. Sports Honored – by T. Mahoney

MECHANICVILLE OCTOBER 16- Over one hundred people attended the Annual Economic Summit, sponsored by the Mechanicville - Stillwater Chamber of Commerce was held at the Elks on Thursday evening. Bob Brown, owner of D.C. Sports was honored as the Success Story of the Year.Congressman Paul Tonko, State Senator Kathy Marchione, Stillwater Supervisor Ed Kinowski, and Mechanicville Supervisor Tom Richardson represented government. Mike Russo of Global Foundries, Mike Tucker, CEO of of the Center for Economic Growth, and Todd Shimkus , President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, represented the private sector.

MECHANICVILLE SEPTEMBER 17- At the City Council Meeting City Clerk Mark Seber announced that 5 properties in the City still have unpaid taxes. On October 9th at the Senior Citizens Center an auction will commence to dispose of any or all of those properties whose taxes are still unpaid.
