Town to Catch Up on Ambulance Costs – by H. Wessell

TOWN OF STILLWATER, June 18 Supervisor Edward Kinowski on Thursday called the merging of the Stillwater and Malta ambulance/ rescue squads "a very seamless transition, and I really appreciate that. I don't think most people even notice the difference, except they see the word ëMalta' now added to ‘Stillwater,' but that's okay."
But not all that unexpected -- as the late Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story" is one of some seams straining.
The Town Board heard the rest from representatives of the Malta Ambulance Service and rescue squad.

No Swimming This Year at Brown’s Beach – by H. Wessell

This Thursday an executive session - required because of a contract change - will be held in part because opening the beach will now involve a change in the lease. It it is expected that the Town, not one of the operators engaged for the site, will be operating the beach itself.
Supervisor Kinowski talking with the Express on Monday indicated it is expected that opening the beach area for bathers will be ruled out for this year, for various legal and procedural complications that have compounded the many weather related hurdles.

Knowski Gives Brown’s Beach Preview – by H. Wessell

TOWN OF STILLWATER, May 15  A person in high office once said famously: "YOU didn't do that." Rather, someone else made the opportunity for your success.

In this case, Supervisor Ed Kinowski's perspective seems to be that every person in the Town of Stillwater can say "I did that"  when all is said and done at Brown's Beach.

Kinowski and presumptive Brown's Beach operators Tony Panza of Panza's Restaurant and Mike Menetto of Menetto's Motor Sports (Clifton Park)
brought members of the Saratoga Lake Association up to date at their annual meeting, held at Panza's.

Brown’s Beach Still Needs Volunteers – by H. Wessell

TOWN  OF STILLWATER, May 5: Road work and  restoration continue in earnest at Brown's Beach town park. "I'm here right now," said Town Supervisor  Edward Kinowski to the Express Monday afternoon;  "and we've got truck after truck pulling in with loads of stone -- for more roadway;  and they're really going strong. Dewatering is a big thing underway, and getting to the upper building so I can  start to prepare that for Menetto"  [PowerSports, new marina operator].

He explained that the deck of the main building, due to the way it was attached to the building, has been affected by water, frost heaves, age and lack of care, so that "we're going to restore that area to a better condition ñ by making it new."

STILLWATER AND MECHANICVILLE, Oct. 22 and 24 – The Mechanicville-Stillwater Industrial Development Agency did not vote on a requested Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) plan for the re-crafted Esplanade project, following Public Hearings in the two municipalities.  A meeting to do so was expect in the coming week.

Empire Warehousing Corp. estimates a project cost of approximately $55 million on 11.3 acres on North Main in the City, including ten percent within the Town of Stillwater, now returning to the IDA as a residential rather than mixed use project, with 294 apartments and a 50-seat café with community space totaling approximately 12,000 s.f. Brown’s Beach – A Work In Progress – By Harold Wessell

STILLWATER, October 14 --The Stillwater Town Board is looking for a few ... more ... good men – and women, to make the revival of Brown’s Beach the community’s accomplishment, says Town Supervisor Edward Kinowski. He envisions the same kind of effort that went far toward the creation of Hollow Town Park, where citizens made new things happen.

"Our Board is making progress with the Brown's Beach restoration," Kinowski told the Express in a conversation this week. "Over the past four weeks, following the final purchase on 16 Sept., a variety of tasks was accomplished by volunteers and contractors.  Most of the work to date

Stillwater Rezoning: DONE – By Harold Wessell

The Stillwater Town Board on this date adopted, after a final hearing with few present, zoning changes in the works for several months.

"Zoning is important, from many aspects," began Supervisor Edward Kinowski.  "A lot of people just skip by when they hear ‘new zoning map,' without recognizing what it potentially can do for their property -- and it's all about what they can do on the property," whether restricting  or expanding or otherwise adding specific purposes  to its further use in some cases.
