All Saints Presents Checks to Close & Perkins

Basketball Benefit Recipients On Wednesday, June 11th All Saints on the Hudson Parish Youth were pleased to present a check to the recipients of our recent annual basketball benefit to Elizabeth Close and Donna Perkins (Michaela Perkins for Donna Perkins). Pictured for this gathering were: Father Thomas Morrette, pastor of All Saints on the Hudson, Vickie Giulianelli, Director of Youth Ministry, Ann Gaetano benefit chairperson and members of the parish's Youth Council- Brianna Denier, Anthony D'Ambro, Vinnie Varvaro, and Anthony Clements, Noah Perras to name a few.

WA_IMG_0226 WA_IMG_0245 WA_IMG_0246 Youth Council fundraiser 2014 002 Youth Council fundraiser 2014 028 Youth Council fundraiser 2014 031 Youth Council fundraiser 2014 033 Youth Council fundraiser 2014 035   Donna Volpe Perkins of Mechanicville and Elizabeth Close, the home and careers teacher at Stillwater Central School, are fighting the fight of their lives.  Both are battling cancer.  When our neighbors fight cancer, these close-knit communities of Mechanicville and Stillwater rally around to give all the love and support they can.  And that love and support was palpable at the MHS gymnasium on Friday night.

   It’s become a tradition here in our communities for the All Saints on the Hudson Youth Council to embrace the cause of a person in each community each year who needs financial as well as moral support by putting on a benefit basketball extravaganza.

 

Carmella Adeline Sgambati Izzo – 98

MECHANICVILLE – Carmella Adeline Sgambati Izzo, 98, of Park Place, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Mechanicville on June 9, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Stefano and Emilia Sgambati and wife of the late Sanford L. Izzo, Sr.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Ahearn Rescue Squad in loving memory of Carmella A. Izzo.
